Gumball Puzzle

In the worst case, you would get 3 gumballs of different colors first. The 4th gumball you get must match one of the colors you already got. Since each gumball costs 10 cents, the maximum you need to spend is 40 cents.

This puzzle is easier than it seems. The key is not to get confused by the extra information.
